Spring 8-Week Thursday Slip Casting Class

The class will be a 8 week course focusing on: mugs, tumblers, vases, pitchers, bowls, bottles, abstract shapes and sculptures. No limit to the imagination!

Porcelain clay is used in this class.

The course is a hand building class using our unique method of making slabs of clay using liquid porcelain (casting slip). We will focus on design concepts and patterns using colored porcelain. All of the pieces we make will be finished with a clear glaze, or a combination of colored glazes available in our studio.

Included in this class, students will have the opportunity to make one or two slip casting plaster molds.

Price includes all materials, clays, plaster and glazing. Firing fees are not included.

  • This class is designed for the hobbyist, beginner to advanced.

  • Firing fees apply at 8 cents per cubic inch. For example LxWxH x .08 or standard 3 x 3 x 3.5 cup will cost $2.52 to fire to finish porcelain.
